At Aoi Gallery we specialize in 20th century Japanese woodblock prints, also known as shin hanga. These prints were created by artists that inherited the traditions, methods and craftsmanship of the early ukiyo-e masters, adding their own inspiration and perspective to bring their trade to a new level of beauty.

Most of our prints date from the 1920s to the 1940s, the era known as the “golden age” of shin hanga. Except where noted, the works in our gallery were printed during the artists’ lifetime and all of our prints are guaranteed to be authentic.
